Traveling Scholar Program - Introduction

Traveling Scholar Program - Introduction

Since 1963, the Traveling Scholar Program has allowed Big Ten 91视频 doctoral students to spend up to a full academic year pursuing specialized courses of study, researching unique library collections, and working in advanced laboratories and facilities at other Big Ten 91视频 institutions 鈥攚ith no change in registration procedures from their home university or additional tuition.

Doctoral-level students interested in the Traveling Scholar Program must first consult their advisor who evaluates whether the Traveling Scholar opportunity is likely to enhance the student鈥檚 doctoral studies. Additionally, advisors examine whether the specialized course, resource or opportunity being sought through Traveling Scholar is unavailable to the scholar on their home campus. The host campus course instructor and/or faculty sponsor, as is applicable to the educational opportunity sought, must also approve the Traveling Scholar application.
